Ask: answers from our class notes, in a popup

Press ⌥Space anywhere on your Mac, ask a question, and get an answer from our class notes, with every point linked to the lecture it came from.

Download for MacApple silicon Macs, macOS 13 or later.

How it works

Ask from anywhere

⌥Space opens Ask over whatever you're studying. Or press ⌥⇧Space and drag a box around a slide or question to ask about it.

From the class notes

Use Talmage's published notes for our class, kept up to date as lectures are added, or a folder of your own lecture PDFs, slides and notes, or both. Answers link to the section they came from and show its figures.

Kept to what we need to know

Answers stay at the level of our courses right now, the way the lectures teach it, without wandering past what we're expected to know.

Deeper when you want it

When the notes don't cover something, or you ask it to search the web, Ask checks trusted sources like PubMed and StatPearls and cites them.

Getting started

  1. Download Ask and open it.
  2. Choose Dental, then Talmage's notes, your own notes folder, or both.
  3. Choose who writes the answers: Ask's AI, or your own Claude Pro or Max plan.
  4. Press ⌥Space and ask.

Ask's AI is $9.99 a month; with a Claude Pro or Max plan you already have, Ask itself costs nothing.

On Windows?

Ask is Mac-only for now. Leave your email and you'll hear when there's a Windows version.
